Just Right Lending

Borrowing calculator

Get a rough idea, then let's talk

This gives you a ballpark figure based on the numbers you enter. It isn't a loan pre-approval and it isn't personal advice. Every lender assesses income, expenses and debts a little differently, which is exactly why the real number comes from a proper conversation, not a calculator.

Take-home pay, after tax, combined if there's more than one applicant.

Groceries, bills, insurance, transport, everything ongoing.

Car loans, personal loans, credit card minimums, HECS/HELP.

Most home loans run 25–30 years.

Lenders test your ability to repay at a higher "assessment rate" than the rate you'd actually pay, usually a few percentage points above current rates. 8.5% is a reasonable illustrative default, but adjust it if you'd like to test a different scenario.

Indicative borrowing power

This is a rough estimate, not a number to rely on.

It doesn't check your credit history, verify your income, or account for a specific lender's actual policy, all of which affect the real number. It's here to give you a sense of scale before we talk, not to replace the conversation. Nothing you enter here is saved or sent anywhere, it's calculated in your browser only.
